The Fitzhead Inn
Have you ever wondered what it is like to stay in your own traditional English pub? Well now is your chance. This is a unique opportunity to do just that! Pour your own pints from the bar, stay in the luxury rooms and enjoy a private stay. The host who is the licence holder is on site at all times.
The Fitzhead Inn is 17th Century traditional Olde Worlde pub in the picturesque village of Fitzhead in rural Somerset between Taunton and Wellington. Guests will have the exclusive use of the whole of the pub and accommodation The Pub is fully operational with beer pumps, spirit measures, glasses, glass washer, refrigeration and everything else you need. Stand behind the bar and pull your relatives or friends a pint of beer!
The Fitzhead Experience
The Fitzhead also has a fully equipped professional kitchen with all the necessary accessories. Try on our chefs whites and experience the excitement of cooking in a professional kitchen! All cooking essentials are available, e.g. spices, oils, sauces etc are included in your rental.
Meat, Fish, Vegetables, Bread and other food needs to be purchased. We can do this for you or you can visit the large supermarkets in Taunton. We have an arrangement with a local farm to supply superb quality meat, sausages, free range eggs, cheese. The locally reared beef steak and venison are amazing!!!First Morning breakfast is included in your rental eggs, bacon, jam, marmalade and toast. Full training will be given on your arrival about the use of the kitchen and bar equipment. Anyone wanting to cook in the professional kitchen must undergo an induction (typically 10 mins). The Pub is fully equipped with a range of Pub games from Darts to Cribbage to Bar Skittles to Dominos to Backgammon .
Everyone Welcome
At the Fitzhead, we can cater for all everyone. The first barrels (35 pints) of real ale or cider are included in your rental fee (8 persons or more). Thereafter beer and cider are charged at £100/£120 a barrel. Larger can also be supplied on request. No wine, spirits or soft drinks are included. These can be arranged for you or you can bring your own.
Special days out can be arranged such as Shooting, Fishing, Sightseeing, Jeep Safari on Exmoor, Golf, Horse Racing, Cricket, Cider Tasting. Or try us out with some ideas of things you have always wanted to do from you bucket list. We will do our utmost to arrange them. The pub and rooms all have good internet connection. However the mobile phone signal in the village is very weak . A landline is available on the premises for urgent calls.
The Pub
The Pub inside is split into two connecting areas. One with the bar, dart board and tables to sit at. The second area is the living/dining space which consists of 3 sofas arranged around the log fire and TV.
For eating there are 2 tables seating 4 and 6 people which can be configured together if required.
There is plenty to keep your occupied in the local area with Exmoor national park, the old town of Dulverton and the nearby steam railway.
We can even supply a professional London trained chef to give you cookery classes on site in our kitchen.
